Aeonium ‘Kracken’- Our First Ottershaw CRISTATE Hybrid
Aeonium ‘Kracken’ was launched May 2024 at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. This succulent is a dramatically dark Aeonium that develops cristate (crested) growth habit after about 2 years.
The growth is unique to each plant, after 2 years is can be both cristate and have single heads on a tall flatten stem. The new single heads can also cristate themselves.
This plant has a very full cristate head. The parentage of Aeonium ‘Kracken’ is tall growing ‘Plum Purdy ‘and and ‘Bronze Teacup’, it is a dramatic addition to everybody’s collection and part of a batch of seedlings that have yielded 2022 RHS Plant of the year finalist Aeonium’ Jubilee’.
The plants we ship will be young plants and likely not to show evidence of cristate growth yet.
We have found this Aeonium to be no more difficult to look after than the rest, and potting on and feeding during the growing season ensures it reaches its maximum potential.

Shipping your Plants
- Plants are carefully wrapped then packed into strong cardboard boxes.
- All boxes are marked FRAGILE and posted by Royal Mail Tracked 24 service.
- Unpack carefully, repot if required and leave in the shade to adjust for 2-3 days, before watering.
- All plants come with a plant label with full plant identification and our UK Plant Passport information.
- Grown in a 9 cm pots, your plants will be shipped ready for potting up into your own gritty compost.
